Regular Services

Services are held in church at 11:15am every Sunday. Two types of worship are offered:-

All Age Worship
Held at 11:15am on the 2nd Sunday of the month, this is a short non-eucharistic service in a modern and relaxed style. The Sunday School join in with the service and newcomers are made to feel welcome. The service is accessible for those who have not previously attended church. Refreshments are served afterwards and most people stay to socialise for a while.

Sung Eucharist
Held on 11:15am on Sundays (except 2nd Sunday of the month). This is a traditional communion service with a small and intimate feeling. Hymns and responses are sung.

Sunday School
There is an active Sunday School which meets every Sunday morning. When there is an All Age Worship service, they join in with the entire service. On other weeks, they meet in Croft House at 11am and join the service for the last 10 minutes.

Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals
Wedding and Baptisms are becoming increasingly popular at St John’s with the pretty village scenery making this the ideal choice to make your day extra special. Please make contact with one of the priests or churchwardens to discuss your particular requirements.

Christmas Services
Additional services are held at Christmas time. Our well known Candlelit Carol Service is usually held on the Sunday before Christmas at 3pm. On Christmas Eve, a Crib Service is held for the children at 6pm, and Midnight Mass is celebrated at 11:30pm.

Home Visits
If you are unwell enough to attend church, but would still like to take communion, then we offer home communion.

Similarly, if you know of someone who would appreciate a home visit by one of our team members, please call and ask. We’re here to help.
